What is IntriCakes known for?

IntriCakes is known for creating specialty cakes and crafting one-of-a-kind cake designs. Please let us know the theme, serving size, color palette, and any message you would like to put on your cake. We work with each client individually to make sure your cake is personalized and something to remember. We will tailor it to your unique personality, taste, and style, and can include details such as matching the bride’s flower bouquet, color palette, wedding dress, and wedding theme.

If you found a cake via social media (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.) and would like us to recreate it, please feel free to send the photos to: info@intricakes.com to receive a quote. Feel free to reference cakes from our gallery and/or social media, and also let us know if you would like to include sculpted toppers, figures, flowers, and/or other specific details.  

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I ORDER MY CAKE?

As soon as possible to ensure that the preferred delivery date is available, but between 6-9 months for a wedding is ideal. We do also accept last minute orders; however, this will depend on availability.

If I provide you with a picture of what I’d like, can you recreate it? Does it cost extra for a custom design?

We can try to recreate it to the best of our abilities.  However, we don't prefer to copy other cake artists' work 100% because we feel like it is not personalized and customized to our bride and groom. We can definitely use the picture as an inspiration and discuss with you further to create something more catered to your preferences.  The final design will determine the cost of the cake.

Can you offer some design ideas based on my theme and budget?

Yes, definitely. However, we prefer to have our clients provide any inspirations they may have, whether it be photos of prior cakes they liked, photos of the client's wedding dress (so that we may incorporate it into the design), color palettes, and/or the client's wedding invitation so we can personalize their wedding cakes and make them one-of-a-kind. 

How much do your cakes cost?

Our cakes start at $10.00 per serving and can increase depending on complexity of the design, number of servings, tier sizes, and delivery location. Once this information is obtained, we would be able to give you a better idea on pricing. Generally, however, our cakes average $1,500+   

DO YOU offer CAKE TASTINGS?

Cake consultations/tastings are $65 and by appointment only.  You may choose up to two flavors that are baked fresh and prepared for your individual tasting. If you decide to move forward with us, the fee will be applied to the total cake balance. what are your Cake consultation hours?

Cake consultation/tasting appointments are available Monday -- Thursday by appointment, anytime between 10-4p.m and generally last about 1 hour. However, we may be able to accommodate appointments outside of these times depending on our availability.

design process

 After your cake consultation, we will have a better idea of your design concept. Once we receive your 50% deposit to reserve your date, we start working on a few sketches for you to choose from and tweak until the sketch is exactly how you envision the cake to look like on your big day.        

HOW MUCH IS THE DEPOSIT AND WHEN IS IT DUE? 

 Prior to receiving the cake sketch, a 50% non-refundable deposit is due to reserve your date. Once we receive the deposit, we will work diligently with you on sketching/creating your dream cake. 

WHEN IS THE FINAL PAYMENT DUE?

 The balance must be paid one month prior to delivery date.

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL FEES THAT I SHOULD BE AWARE OF?

Besides the cake/dessert price, delivery, and setup, there are possible charges for cake stands and table linens if you wish to rent them. 

WILL YOU PRESERVE THE TOP TIER OF MY CAKE FOR MY FIRST ANNIVERSARY?

We do not recommend saving the top tier because any cake left in the freezer for one year normally becomes very stale and develops freezer burn.  However, you may give us a call to order a small cake for your one year anniversary at a discounted price.  

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE OF THE WEDDING IS THE CAKE MADE?

All of our cakes and desserts are made to order on the week of the event/wedding. 

What are your cake delivery and setup fees? Do you decorate the cake table, too?

Delivery starts at $65 and depending on the location, the price can increase. We deliver to the following locations:

Orange County
Riverside
Los Angeles                                                                                                                                  Long Beach
San Diego

We are only responsible for the cake itself and the board or stand it comes on. The florist decorates the cake table, and you can have your florist put the flowers on the cake if you desire.  If prior arrangements were made for us to decorate and style the table, an additional $50 fee wiill be charged.

What if the cake is damaged in transit to or at my reception site?

In the event of an accident during delivery, and the cake is irreparable, we would refund you the full amount.  However, once the cake is delivered and we leave the premises, we are no longer liable.  If the cake is damaged after the delivery, you may call us to see if we are available to come fix it (to the best of our abilities) at no additional cost.

Do you have cake stands for rent?

IntriCakes has several cake stands and plateaus available for rent. Cake stands are subject to a $250 security deposit that is refunded when all cake equipment and rentals are returned clean and undamaged. You must make arrangements to return the equipment no later than three days after the wedding to receive the full security deposit. The security deposit is forfeited if equipment is not returned by ‘Equipment Return Date’ per your contract

What is your refund policy if I need to cancel my order?

       Please understand that when we reserve a date for you, we have to refuse orders from other potential clients. Therefore, we ask that you give us at least six months (if possible) in advance for a wedding cake/ special event cancellation notice. 

       You will forfeit your 50% non-refundable deposit, and any funds thereafter will be refunded. If the event(s) are rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, or if there is a breach of contract by the client, the retainer fee is non-refundable and shall be liquidated damages to IntriCakes. A change-of- date/reschedule penalty fee will be up to $250. 

        Missed or Forgotten pickups

        We will make every attempt to contact you before we close. Your order will be available for pick up on the following business day but you are responsible to schedule the time to pick up. Refunds will not be available as we have made every effort to ensure your order was made on time and ready for your special day.

Are you insured?

Yes, you may be required to request proof of insurance from IntriCakes if required by the venue.
